For all that he is powerful and immortal, Adamas could only watch in helpless terror as the sickness claimed his lover and mate, Damaon. Adamas knew that soon, he too would be stricken with the same disease. Before all is lost, he activates the calling star to summon aid—a woman who is able to bring them back from the brink of death.

Jobless, homeless and penniless, Raisa Sheldon is captivated by a glittering star and transported to a dazzling palace and its equally fascinating masters and the world they inhabit. She wields the power of life and death over them, yet it was nothing compared to their ability to provide her with extreme pleasure beyond imagination as the days and nights blend into one long orgasmic delight. When one shocking revelation rocked the axis of her world, will the palace become a Pleasure Trap she no longer wish to escape?

Note: This book contains hot, intense male/male and male/male/female sex.

  Excerpt:

Raisa woke, conscious of her nakedness. She usually slept in her teddy, unless she had a man over for the night. Which she must have, because the satin sheets under her body was sinfully sensuous next to her bare skin. Oh, lovely. She moved in a sinuous stretch much the same way as a cat, purring when a warm hand caressed her stomach.

“You have such lovely lips,” a voice groaned in her ear, deep and grating with a melodious undertone that vibrated through her body. “Soft and full…”

Her brows knitted. So why wasn’t he kissing her? Mainly through feel, she found his head and burrowed her hands in his thick hair—long and luxurious—and pulled his head down as she lifted her face to his in invitation, her lips parted. Another groan, then firm, warm male lips drew her mouth into a slow, thorough kiss, before he pushed his tongue past her lips and explored her mouth. She met his advance with a bold one of her own and their tongues teased and caressed with increasing abandon. Lust surged up within her in huge, powerful waves, her skin so sensitized that she quaked when his breath wafted over her flesh. She had the terrifyingly overwhelming urge to rub against him like a kitten. It had been a long time since anyone had moved her this strongly. Where did she find this treasure of a man?

She was drowning in so much pleasure in the kiss and his hand caressing her breast that she almost didn’t note the sensation of another pair of lips running its way up her leg. The moment she did, she knew something was wrong. She’d heard of men with octopus hands but a man with two mouths? What kind of man did she go to bed with last night anyway?

Not her usual type of men, that was for sure. She didn’t go for men with hard, gym-toned bodies—and from the press of his body against hers, the muscles of this man above her was rock-hard—nor did she like soft men with big bellies. Something in between was fine for her, thank you very much, especially if he had a nice, thick, long cock—

No, wait. The surge of power rushing up her arm flashed through her mind, then the darkness overwhelming her.

No date, no man. Hospital?

Taking note of his position—no, their positions, as there had to be more than one man on the bed with her—she gathered her strength with slow, subtle movements so that the men wouldn’t be aware of her actions. She hoped her long-ago karate lessons wouldn’t fail her at this crucial juncture. Judging the time to be right, she suddenly let fly in a burst of black-belt karate movements that would’ve done her sensei proud. Unfortunately, her legs were always stronger than her hands, especially from a lying down position and she was only able to kick one man away. He landed on the ground with a solid thud and a loud “oof!” The other man, alerted by her swift jab, cursed and clamped his arms around her wrists and threw his body over hers so that she wouldn’t be able to kick out at him too.

Damn.

The hard, sharp-edged angles of his body cut into her softness, but her flesh cradled him, adjusting to accommodate him. Little tendrils of stirring drifted across her entire body.

Damn, damn, damn.

Hard and thick, pulsing against her crotch. Needy. Hungry. Making her both.

  Interview with Erica Ridley

Erica Ridley's debut Gothic historical Too Wicked To Kiss has been chosen as the August 2010 book of the month for the Julia Quinn / Eloisa James book club. If you’d like to read Too Wicked To Kiss before release day, please join the 30 Wicked Kisses countdown at 2wicked2kiss.com and get a scene a day in your inbox throughout the month of February. Erica will be giving away signed advance copies of the book to random subscribers!

AL : What inspired you to write Too Wicked Too Kiss?

ER: Oddly enough, my inspiration came after the first draft was already done. I'd written 400 pages of romance and mystery, but felt it was missing something I couldn't quite define. I set the project aside to work on other stories, and read like crazy in the meantime. The books that called the most to me were those in which the setting was a character in its own right. When I blank-page rewrote my manuscript with a Gothic feel in mind, the change in mood made all the difference. I love the characters, I love the ambience, and I love this story!

AL : What did you learn about yourself or in general from writing this book?

ER: I learned that "how" is more important than "what". When I revised Too Wicked To Kiss, the plot stayed the same, but how I *told* the story changed, and with it changed the characters' perceptions of the world around them. The facts didn't change, but their experience did. During this same time, my critique partner and I were reading a lot of books on life and relationships, and I realized (not for the first time) that the same is true in real life. It's all in the interpretation. I am a happy, easygoing, never-bored person because I choose to be. (Although I guess by my own logic, I could also be starring in my own Gothic storyline if I wanted to be! LOL.)

AL : What made you choose to write in the Gothic genre?

ER: Although 80's historicals are responsible for introducing me to the world of romance (and historicals continue to dominate my keeper shelves) I used to sneak my dad's horror novels as a kid, and was even more taken with the creepy atmosphere than the plot. The Gothic genre lets me combine unusual, evocative settings with sexy, emotional romance--which for me is a total win.

AL : Personally, I grew up reading Gothic romance, especially Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney. Are there any Gothic authors who inspired you?

ER: Oooh, those were great. And I hear that some of Victoria Holt's titles are being rereleased, which I hope indicates a resurgence of the Gothic!

AL : What else are you working on?

ER: While I'm waiting on the edits for my second novel, I'm working on a proposal for a third. I've been having a lot of fun thinking up a devious Gothic plot for my new heroine. I'm already half in love with the hero, but these two will have a lot of adventure to go through before they earn their Happily Ever After!

But how can she risk their long-time friendship for sex?

The Raving Readers (Shana) gives 4-1/2 stars!

Ms Madison keeps me in tenterhooks all throughout the book! She creates these believable characters and places them in angst-and-sexual-tension filled situations that has me with my eyes glued to my laptop.... Adrian and Ethan are amazingly hot and hunky, and the way they try to seduce Shelli... Whew! I wish I were in her shoes. Ms Madison also imaginatively creates an erotic version of the game Chutes and Ladders (or Snakes and Ladders) and I know I'll never look at that game the same way ever again.

If there's a sequel, I'm getting it. In fact, I'm looking forward to reading Ms. Madison's other books.”

Night Owl Romance gives 4.25 out of 5 stars!

Candelabra lives up to its name incredibly well, it is scalding hot. Afton Locke writes with ease and knowledge of experience, or really great research. BDSM is a world that few can handle well, and Ms. Locke shows a different side of BDSM in her novelette. Ms. Locke demonstrates to her readers basically that everyone has to start somewhere, either with an incredibly erotic Fire Elemental or your own lover, its very normal and very possible.

Candelabra is a quick read, magical and intense as well….This novelette is short, deliciously erotic, and sure to leave you with a desire to explore you own wild side. I will definitely be looking out for more from this author as you should be too.
